Paul Brunskill installed Darren Forshaw into the WM’s chair of Hardshaw Lodge No 8722 in a first-class ceremony enhanced by the presence of Assistant Provincial Grand Master Tony Bent. Tony was
accompanied by six grand officers and St Helens and Prescot Group Chairman Graham Williams.
The ceremony, conducted Paul with his usual flair, was highly praised by Tony whilst bringing the congratulations of the Provincial Grand Master. Tony was also keen to mention the brethren who assisted in the ceremony and told the brethren present that they had witnessed a superb ceremony.
During the festive board Tony was keen to add his own congratulations to both the new and installing masters and added that Paul left his mastership with his head held high, telling Darren that he was now the master of a successful and well-regarded lodge, whilst presenting him with a MCF 2021 Festival Vice Patron’s certificate for the lodge.
Taking a cue from the presentation, Tony went on to talk about the MCF 2021 Festival which he announced was going from strength to strength. He mentioned the importance of the brethren being aware of the need to support their own charities as it was inevitable that the festival tended to reduce the amount of money available for other causes.
Tony reminded the brethren that time was as important as money when considering their gifts to the charities. He particularly praised the Masonic Salmon and Trout Fishing Society, who give their time to help disabled children and ex-servicemen by providing days out for them.
Tony congratulated Colin Rowling on his appointment as an Assistant to The Provincial Grand Principals and pointed out the pleasure he had experienced working closely with Colin over the last few years in his last role as St Helens and Prescot Group Chairman. Tony also congratulated the newly appointed group chairman Graham Williams who has taken over from Colin and the other group officers.
