Prescot Trinity Installs Michael John Paton Into the Chair of King Solomon
Mike Paton is one of four members of his family in Prescot Trinity Lodge; and after the recent Installation ceremony during which he was Installed as Master, the principal offices in the Lodge are now held by the same family. Mike was ably installed by brother Ged and then invested Cousin Dave as Senior Warden and Ged’s son Chris as Junior Warden; making it a truly family affair.
The Lodge was most honoured to have as principal guest one of it’s own members, Past Group Chairman David Fairclough had generously offered to stand in at the last moment following the planned guest being unable to attend due to his wife being taken ill. David brought the usual greetings and good wishes of the Provincial Grand Master Tony Harrison and was keen to praise the Officers of his Lodge for the quality of the ceremony; stating that he was delighted to have the chance of presiding in his own Lodge..
During the festive board David praised the Lodge and its members. He noted the generosity of the Lodge in presenting a cheque for £500 for the West Lancs Freemasons Charity. He also stated that there were further donations to the 2010 festival to come.
David noted that he was attended by two acting officers of the Province, Provincial Grand Steward David Rigby and David Kenworthy the Provincial Grand Sword Bearer, he also noted that the group had been recognised with a number of high Provincial Honours and promotions, Arthur Monk as Past Provincial Grand Sword Bearer, Doug Fletcher as Provincial Junior Grand Warden and Harry Unsworth as Provincial Senior Grand Deacon amongst them.
During the response he gave to the toast to his health Worshipful Master Mike thanked the Officers and Brethren of Prescot Trinity for their support and stated that the future of the Lodge looked bright.
